We run Interactive performances where Schools have the opportunity to study and perfect their artistic skills in traditional African dance or drumming and other African Music in conjunction with Abantu’s Artists

We can run performances at your school, college or community with a high level of audience participation. The audiences are involved in clapping, stomping, and playing rhythms, and the fun doesn’t stop!
We bring an array of African drums and invite students and teachers or members of the community to drum with us onstage several times throughout the show. We also get entire audiences up and dancing to live drumming.
These are a fusion of traditional music, instruments and beats interspersed with modern styles and arrangements. The traditional instruments include akogo – Thumb piano, endingidi – Tube fiddle, engalabi – Long drum, engoma – East African drum, djembe – West African drum, adungu – stringed instrument, guitars and much more. The performances include drumming, dancing, singing and storytelling
that is why we call our shows ‘Interactive’ African Performances – everybody gets a chance to participate in the fun!
